A young woman comes to terms with the role she plays in society as an Adderall dealer. Margos Margossian directs a script by Ani Tatintsyan, who also stars — crafted with stylish visuals and acerbic wit, “Adderall Cowboy” is a contemplation of the current pharma state and the condition of the American dream. Ani comes from Armenia and lands in California where, at a Hollywood Party, she meets a man known as the Adderall Cowboy. He invites her into a new world and years later she’s still at it, “irreversibly corrupted,” hawking ADHD drugs to today’s youth. With a resigned view, Ani understands the drugs exist to remove limitations, friction and discomfort in dealing with the Western machine, but ultimately begins to search for salvation. -KA.
