A city construction worker, played by Buddy Anthony Diaz, gets his girlfriend Taco Bell for their anniversary dinner. Ted Marsden directs “Amor to Love,” a Hi-8 character study of a guy who can’t seem to get things under his control. We meet Buddy working traffic management at a hectic construction site. Both co-workers and drivers don’t seem to listen to him whatsoever, communication is all over the place. Above all, we hear a call from his girlfriend where she expresses excitement, along with a long list of demands, for their at home anniversary dinner. Struggling to find food at the last minute, he’s forced to go with Taco Bell’s new ‘Corazón-a-rito.’ With a charming performance by Diaz, along with Marsden’s dreamscape Hi-8 world, comes a heartfelt letter to loving oneself, and Taco Bell. -Jinho Myung.
