An online model with a huge following is being followed. Maxim Stollenwerk directs “Ilona's Bloody Body,” a dynamic, creeping drama tracking a young Bulgarian woman as she balances her profession as a cam-girl with her everyday relationships. She discusses details of her job and the realities that come with it, some more odd than others. She grabs lunch with her concerned mother; contends with a boyfriend who’s reluctant to perform for a threesome porn video; and meets with an old friend who disapproves of her work. The captivating docu-fictional piece suddenly takes some turns into darker, grayer territories. Stollenwerk refrains from stylistic tropes of the mockumentary form, instead, crafting cinematic visuals throughout—a quality fit for the thrilling twists that unfold. -JM. Director: Maxim Stollenwerk. DP: Ivo Nelis. Producer: Michiel Knops. Editor: Jonas Verstraeten. Cast: Vladinella Katsarska, Lana Gekova, Kristiyan Negalov, Andjelika Djambazova, Paraskeva Djukelova, and Monika Ivanova.
