A filmmaker builds a self-portrait of her two relationships with men and the objects they left behind. Abigail Holland’s “kid with a pearl earring” offers a snapshot of young love and grief told through forthright narration over vivid images of New York City. She retraces the arc of a relationship with an ex-boyfriend, and a violation during a sexual encounter. Objects from her past lead to other memories, and Holland finds herself reminiscing about her late father. The narration cuts through the noise of Time Square and Coney Island, a train of thought both intimate and uncomfortable. -JM. Director: Abigail Holland. Cast: Olivia Nikkanen, Jacob Moskovitz. DP: Conor Murdock. Editor: Mack Wolf. Producer: Kabir Kumar-Hardy. Sound: Jack Liden. Music: David Gilmore. 1st AC: Jack Salmon. Color: Andrew Mirmanesh.
