When a conspiracy theorist’s internet goes out, he calls the cable company to fix the problem. Ft Langley directs “Steakhouse,” a bizarre sci-fi-inspired comedy where one man’s delusions lead to some questionable reactions toward his sudden visitor. Our main character wakes up at his desk; it seems he hasn’t showered in a few days. He takes a look out the window to see what the neighbors are up to — something seems a bit off. When he opens his laptop to complete his daily “truth hunting,” the internet disconnects. A technician arrives, and our conspiracy theorist becomes convinced he’s being targeted. With an intriguing setup and effective performances, Langley showcases paranoia through various texturized modes, including some off-kilter 3D animation. -JM. Director: Ft Langley.
