Searching for the Wave
The Break Up
•
Drama, Short Films, 07-Nov-2022
Memories of their early days swirl together for a young couple while the present day looms with hurt and confusion. Chelsea Muscat directs “Searching for the Wave,” an intimate and poetic relationship study that weaves together two separate timelines. In one, Faye and Ava form a quick bond and establish their partnership. They share life details with each other in ways they’ve never shared with anyone else. When things suddenly shift, though, Faye is left reeling. Equal parts touching and forlorn, Muscat’s film is built around sensitive performances and lovely images. -KA.
